Interviewing Within Your Current Company
Kent R.
Q: I’m interviewing for a new job within my company because my work-group is being cut. Any tips?
A: Now more than ever, you have to establish yourself as someone who offers a track record of success. Because you will be interviewing in a “warm” environment, it is imperative that you rely on examples to back up your claims of success. Be very specific in providing the details of your contributions. Because you are an internal candidate, I’d even suggest that you provide a one page document that outlines your “wins” within the organization (in addition, of course, to your resume). In this job market, there’s no room for anything less than an assertive approach.
