Where to Place Education on a Resume
Kent R.
Q: I have a Graduate degree and have always thought that education should be at the top of my resume. Is that correct?
A: This is a good topic in the season of graduation ceremonies. It has been the case that – in most instances – education should fall under professional experience, except for new graduates.
Recruiters and hiring managers expect to see a lot of powerful information in the prime real estate at the top of a resume. It's not that your education isn't important. It is. Rather, it's all about giving employers what they want to see, where they want to see it.
