Focus Your Job Search
Kent R.
No matter the economy, it's important to have a focused job search. Randomly applying for any job will get you no place. Always take a mindful approach when pursuing a new position. I always suggest that clients first focus on isolation companies/organizations of interest. Ask yourself these questions:
-What companies have values that align with mine?
-What size company do I want to work for?
-What corporate culture am I seeking?
-What companies are growing?
-Where are employees happiest?
A good place to start the search for stellar companies is lists. There are a number that go beyond the ever popular Fortune's Top 100 Employer's list. A few weeks ago I linked to one. Since "Where should I apply?" is such a common question, today I am directing you to another.
Outside Magazine's list of 30 top employers was recently published. If those sound good, they even offer 70 more for you to take a look at.
Good luck searching!
