Career Development in 2022

Career Development in 2022

We are advocates for a consistent, year round focus on self improvement and career development. But the new year is a natural place to put that energy – to put your energy toward rejuvenation, revitalization, and even reinvention.

This is an especially interesting moment. With New Years behind us – and Lunar New Year just around the corner – we find ourselves at the confluence of a broad focus on growth and a job market here in the US that is uncommonly favorable for many. No, this hot job market isn’t lifting up all boats (so to speak), but it is providing a rare opportunity for many people to take big steps forward in their careers.

So we’re making career development the focus of Season 5.

To start things out, we’re tackling a topic that will resonate with a lot of listeners: how to decide if a career change is a strategic decision for you. Later in the season, we’ll discuss ways to move your career forward even when your manager and company culture are barriers to that progress. We’ll also get into some practical tips around the logistics of taking your career to the next level.

But before we kick off this season, we want to point out that we’re doing something a little different going forward. Last season, we decided to answer questions form the the “mail bag.” Well, that approach turned out be very well received – and it was a lot of fun for us – so we are shifting our standard format to focus on directly answering questions we receive from clients and listeners.
